Vitamin C is important to prevent cancer. More than a dozen studies have shown that this vitamin is a powerful antioxidant that reduce the risk of almost all forms of cancer, including cancer for bladder, breast, cervix, colon, lung mouth, prostate, pancreas, and stomach. Most of the evidence for this anti-cancer benefit comes from studies of high intake of the vitamin from foods, not from supplement.
Vitamin C appears to work in a couple of important ways to prevent cancer:
It disarm free radicals before they can damage DNA and stimulate tumor growth.
Vitamin C assist the body's own free radical defense mechanism by working in partnership with vitamin E to arrest free radicals.
Main sources of vitamin C in the diet are from good carbs such as citrus fruits. Other food such as green and red pepper broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, spinach, cantaloupe, and strawberries, are also excellent sources, and you should eat a variety of these foods.

by drinking citrus juice rather than sodas
Eat fresh, raw sources of vitamin C whenever possible. Cooking destroys much of the vitamin C in foods
